Profile

Through my professional career working for and/or assisting activities of UN agencies (WHO, UNEP, WB, GEF, etc.), technical collaboration agencies in Japan (JICA and JBI), international NGOs (ILEC) and a government research institute (as Director of Lake Biwa Research Institute, Shiga, Japan) over the past decades, I was fortunate to have been involved in a number of important environmental policy matters related to water management both in Japan and abroad. While, my current major research interest is in the general area of environmental policy development and implementation for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), particularly of those related to lake and reservoir basins (i.e., Integrated Lake Basin Management, ILBM), my broad professional carrier should be of unique value to those who share common interest, be they students or faculty.
